Iconic British designer Paul Smith has created a limited edition T-Shirt to celebrate with the launch of the War Child “Heroes” album, released on Parlophone in February. Paul Smith’s design for the “Gun-flower” T-Shirt was inspired by the album’s collaboration between music’s finest artists and based on the hard-hitting album cover artwork by John Squire.
The “Heroes” album and Paul Smith T-Shirt are in support of the real heroes – children who live with the brutal effects of war.
From 16th February the T-Shirts will be stocked exclusively in Paul Smith shops and available to buy online at www.paulsmith.co.uk and www.warchild.org.uk Retail price will be £50 and all proceeds will be donated to War Child.
Paul Smith said “I am very honoured to be involved in this worthy project. I have designed a T-shirt which has more of a street/jeans feeling which I feel fits in with this project – I hope people like it”
Paul Smith joins music artists who have lent their support to War Child “Heroes” including Sir Paul McCartney, Duffy, U2, Elbow, Stevie Wonder and Franz Ferdinand.
The “Heroes” album concept, is that the biggest legends in music history select one of their personal favourite songs from their own song writing canon, and nominate a music hero from the next generation to create a modern reworking of that classic song.
