We can say that nowadays, nothing else can be invented, everything already exists. What is advertised as a novelty is nothing more than a rediscovering of some pre-existent thing. From this notion and from the modern feeling that is reached with a certain ease, art becomes only focus and the accumulation of ideas to describe our own time; we are finally free to develop what has already been created. Radiola Santa Rosa is made by Caio, a mistic-hippie vocalist, and Beto, the DJ. That is it, a group that uses Hip Hop techniques to make a Brazilian material. The Internet, softwares, beachs, nature, animal sounds, mantras, hip hop, musical instruments, electronic sounds, collages of old records, freedom spirit and rhymes that deals with self-knowledge that intends to make a better world are the combinations used by Radiola Santa Rosa to define their own universe, something in full mutation and absorption. Radiola (Sound Systems) are the old devices used to play old LP’s, also know as “wax”. Santa Rosa is one of the most traditional Guruja’s borrow, where only who lives there knows about the most uncommon, bizarre and comic things that happens routinelly of a place that is not on the map. Radiola Santa Rosa was born that way. In 2005, They released their first CD, the sampleadelic and Lo-Fi “Disqueria”, a Hip Hop recorded on a improvised studio in Pitangueira’s Beach, second-hand LP’s, free softwares e old musical equipment. Accepted by the public and critic, appering in some TV shows, the well-succeed first release origin, in 2006, to Duberia, the dub version of the first CD. The well-rounded attitude and new goals makes the group looks forward unexplorated paths of Brazilian music. Breaking fronteers is the biggest Radiola Santa Rosa’s challenge when the subjects are cultural, artistic and musical labels. It works like an antropofagic ritual, almost cannibal. Live, the set is Caio, Beto, Sandro on the berimbau and exotic percussions, mixology and psichodelic, besides using oscilator theremin an melodica. Since them, occur some genres incorporations, such as Dub, Tropicália and Hip-Hop and, after that, an intense and creative production come. It is a long way, but ther is only one path: personal evolution via musical evolution.
