It’s hard to watch a live performance from Mottorama without getting attracted by the sophisticated beats of electro music mixed with organic rock, in perfectionist tracks, effective to any avant-garde dance floor... .. With around 150 pounds of equipment, the duo Ale Franco (voice, synthesizers, pads and samples) and Jean Gengnagel (programming, synthesizers, vocoders and guitars) made their first show at a party named “Devassa”, in august 2008, since then they became a great promise of the musical new generation in Brazil. Friends from the Bohemian night of Florianopolis, they both have a long experience in music... .. Ale Franco joined his first band when he was 11 years old. Since then his experience in arts became a natural process. Played in several bands, until he made Killing Ana, in 2005. Graduated in Cinema School, his contact with electronic music also started in 2005, DJing rock music, and later electronic at the party “Pelvis Shaker” – known as one of the best parties of the alternative night in Florianópolis... .. Jean Gengnagel started playing guitar at the age of 13. One year later he began to make music in computers with no commitment. His first band came two yers after that, when he learned to make music in the software Fruity Loops. The sound had an Industrial influence, working with electronic programming and guitars. In 2005, he had DJing and musical production classes, that’s when he started to appear professionally. He also works editing soundtracks for fashion shows and short films. .. .. Mottorama emerged from a will to create a live P.A., that would make possible for them to be free and creative, from the style and musical convictions they share. The productions started in June of 2007, but the tracks came to public only in July, 2008. They use Cubase and Reason to write and produce the songs. In the live performance, the softwares Ableton Live and Reason, plus two MIDI Controllers, one vocoder/synth microkorg, guitar stomp boxes processing voice effects, a lot of virtual synths, a computer and electronic drum pads – all connected to a 16 channel mixer, where it all turns into music... .. The first show (at Devassa) in August, attracted producers and journalists from other cities that were there. Since then, the recent career of Mottorama became national: were part of the radio show Electro on the Rocks, at 91 rock radio station in Curitiba, performed in Bye Bye Brasil and Planeta Atlântida festival, played in the party fcku in São Paulo at the club Glória, and became members of Clunk Bookings & Artist Management (agency for names like Anthony Rother, Booka Shade, Mark Farina, Camilo Rocha, amongst others). They also reached Myspace Nightlife – one of the great arms of the social network, dedicated to night and music – that released their virtual album in October, 2008.
