Guilherme Castilho

About me:

Percussionista, natural de São Paulo, nascido à 14/11/1983. Trabalha em diversos segmentos da música percussiva, integrando bandas populares (MPB, Samba, Forró, Salsa, Reggae, Sertanejo, rock, etc), grupos de percussão étnica, teatro e outros. Atua como free-lancer, acompanhando artistas, bandas e conjuntos em shows, programas, gravações e apresentações em geral. Participou de importantes festivais de música, como o Cascavel Jazz Festival, Festival Globo de MPB e a Mostra Secundarista de música, do selo CPC-UMES. Na qualidade de ritmista, integrou as baterias das Escolas de Samba Leandro de Itaquera (2003/04/05) e Acadêmicos do Tucuruvi (2005). Durante o 7º Brasil Instrumental de Tatuí, 2007, participou da Orquestra da Oficina Itiberê (Zwarg), e sob arranjos e regência do renomado contrabaixista de Hermeto Pascoal, apresentou-se com a formação de quarenta e três músicos no teatro Procópio Ferreira, do Conservatório Dramático e Musical “Dr. Carlos de Campos”. Estudou em importantes centros educacionais de música em São Paulo, como o Conservatório Musical Souza Lima, a Universidade Livre de Música (ULM – Tom Jobim), e ainda o Núcleo RITMUS de Percussão e Bateria. Pela Faculdade de Música Carlos Gomes, SP, no ano de 2004, trabalhou no FLADEM (Fórum Latino - Americano de Educação Musical), realizado no SESC Vila Mariana; ainda pela faculdade, formou-se no ano de 2006, no curso de Licenciatura Plena em Música. Formou-se, no ano de 2010, pelo Conservatório Dramático e Musical “Dr. Carlos de Campos” de Tatuí, SP, no curso de Mpb / Jazz. No setor pedagógico, ministra aulas, oficinas e workshops de percussão popular desde o ano de 2000, em diversos centros educacionais da Cidade de São Paulo e proximidades. Dentre elas, citam-se a Escola de Música In Concert, São Paulo, o Conservatório Musical Souza Lima (Unidade Alphaville) e a ONG Projeto Guri (pólo Osasco). Ainda no segmento acadêmico, foi colaborador da Revista Modern Drummer, no ano de 2006, com clínicas regulares e matérias sobre percussão popular_____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Guilherme Castilho Borned at Sao paulo city, in 11/14/1983, the brazilian percussionist works at many sectors of the percussive music, playing with pop music bands, orchestras and solo artists (mpb, samba, bossa nova, bolero, salsa, rock, reggae, jazz, cowntry, ethnic music formations, traditional folk groups, and others) as a free lancer musician, in concerts, night clubs, tv and radio shows, records of cd/dvd, and events in general. The musician participated of many important Festivals of music (Brazil), like the "Cascavel Jazz Festival", the "Music Festival of Globo Television" and also the "Music Festival of the recording company CPC-UMES". In the quality of rhythmist, he integrated, between the years of 2003 to 2005, the formation of two very important Samba's schools from the brazilian carnival: "Acadêmicos do Tucuruvi" and "Leandro de Itaquera", both from São Paulo city. During the "7th Festival Instrumental Brazil" (Tatuí, 2007), Guilherme studied with Itiberê Zwarg (bass player of Hermeto Pascoal’s band), and in the end of the course, joined the formation of 43 musicians from the Festival Orchestra, presenting themselves on the theater stage of “Procopio Ferreira”, at the Conservatory of Music, in Tatuí city (São Paulo, Brasil). Guilherme also studied at important centers of music education in Sao Paulo, as the Conservatory Musical Souza Lima, The University of Music (ULM - Tom Jobim), and the Ritmus Center of Percussion and Drums. In 2004, representing the Faculty of Music Carlos Gomes, worked at the FLADEM (Latin American Forum for Music Education), held at the SESC Vila Mariana (Sao Paulo, Brazil); also at that Faculty, graduated in the year 2007 In the Bachelor's Degree in Music. In the year of 2008, he also graduated in Brasilian Percussion, at the Music Conservatory of Tatuí. On pedagogical area, Guilherme teaches classes, workshops and clinics of percussion since the year of 2000 at various centers of musical education in São Paulo. Among them we can mention the School of Music "In Concert", the Music Conservatory "Souza Lima" and the NGO "Projeto Guri". Also at the academic sector, the musician was a collaborator of the magazine "Modern Drummer" in the year of 2006, with regular clinics, workshops and articles about popular percussion... ..
