    “I’m hot like fire,” a lyric that accurately describes rap artist Dub- AZ’s music. This 27 year-old New Yorker possesses what many feel the industry is lacking right now: talent, soul, and raw emotion. Dub -AZ is the powerful voice of New York City’s Borough the "Bronx" underground hip-hop scene. There’s an honesty in what he does that transcends all pretense. He’s not rapping for the fame—he does it for the love of the music. He communicates his trials and tribulations through his powerful lyrics and provides listeners with a window into his soul. Dub’s album “What’s Loyalty to You,” is a blend of conscious hip hop mixed with upbeat and fun party songs. His single, “I’m Hot,” featuring Anna Simpson, is a club track that showcases his distinct lyrical abilities and is characterized by hard hitting bass lines with mentally stimulating melodies. The single and the album were both produced and recorded by True Reality, an infamous producer from Detroit, Michigan. “What’s Loyalty to You,” reflects Dub’s energy and passion for his craft and provides the listener with a fresh breath of (real hip hop) air. At the age of 5, after having lost both his mother and father, Dub started rapping. Dub utilized rap as an outlet to escape the pain of losing both parents, the hardships forced upon him by growing up on the streets, and the turmoil from being in and out of foster homes. These difficult situations led him to document his struggles in a creative and positive way, through music. Rather than give in to the temptations of street life, Dub learned as much as he could about music and the art of performing, as well as, focused on perfecting his lyrical craftsmanship. Music acted as Dub’s therapy and escape from the pressures of growing up in the tough streets of the Bronx. Through his focus and dedication to his craft, Dub has been able to create an abundance of lyrically creative and intellectually stimulating songs, to share with the world. “I want the world to be able to embrace the harsh experiences, pain, and joy, that I express in my music,” a quote from Dub-AZ that accurately depicts his album’s theme and sound. As an artist who views unity as the way of bringing real hip hop back, Dub’s music unifies listeners who have been faced with challenges and inspires them to overcome those challenges (just as Dub did himself).
