Charity Turner

The youngest of five siblings born to missionary minister parents in Sydney Australia, Charity’s love for music began at an early age, penning her first song at age six. Under the guidance of Billy Hyde’s Drum Academy, she became a skilled drummer, regularly placing in national drum-offs.

From a young age Charity developed an open minded view of the world, touring remote areas of India (where there is an orphanage named after her) and South East Asia.

During her school years Charity formed an all-girl band and recorded gospel music under Southern Songs (CCLI licensing).

After school Charity relocated to Broome - one of Australia’s most beautiful, yet remote, townships. Living was easy in the balmy tropics, and these new surroundings inspired a new repertoire of songs. Charity developed her own style of music featuring catchy melodies, heartfelt lyrics and a unique way of ‘rhythmically’ playing her guitar – influenced by years of drumming.

At 26 years of age, Charity’s journey has brought her back to the east coast of Australia where she is winning fans through her energetic performances and catchy, honest music. Since her return to Sydney Charity has continued to drum for various Australian artists. She plans to continue touring domestically and internationally, with a new single due in early 2011.
