Cresceu no meio de músicos experientes de sua família lhe que lhe deram uma formação musical muito variada sem limites de fronteiras indo do Jazz, Latin, Samba, Funk, Soul, Reggae, Axé, Forró, etc ... Seu estilo Latino de tocar percussão é bem marcante ao vê-lo se apresentar, aonde emprega todo estudo e experiência em ritmos Latinos dos paises que pesquisou e estudou a sua cultura musical (Cuba, Caribe, Colômbia, Porto Rico,etc...) dos ritmos Latin Jazz, Salsa, Merengue,... associados ao seu swing e o balanço Carioca e Brasileiro característico nos ritmos do Samba , Axé , Forró, Baião, etc... Tocou e gravou com vários grandes músicos e artistas durante os seus 15 anos de carreira como por exemplo : Luka, Evandro Mesquita, Ary Dias, Gustavo Schroeter, Reppolho, Robertinho do Recife, Charles Chalegre, Elza Soares, Banda Mistura Carioca, Banda C-Pop, Banda Karambah, etc... Tem sido muito requisitado no Rio de Janeiro, por vários artistas por ter uma “pegada” marcante e um swing impressionante em seus instrumentos de percussão. Atualmente Alex Zali vem fazendo diversos trabalhos com os músicos da Banda A COR DO SOM ( PREMIO TIM MUSICA 2006 ): Ary Dias (Percussão) e Gustavo Schroeter (Bateria) e acompanha o Cantor HUGO PALAZINI em sua turnê.
